Yep, an astounding $20 million. That is how much Ryan Garcia earned for fighting (and losing) to Rolando Romero in the Fatal Fury event in Times Square. Coming off a one-year suspension, let’s just say that King Ry didn’t quite clear this level to fulfill the purpose of the event—a rematch with Devin Haney. While the latter won his undercard bout against Jose Ramirez, the Victorville native could only go as far as scoring 112-115, 109-118, 112-115 on judges’ scorecards, losing the opportunity by unanimous decision.
However, losing in the ring doesn’t always stamp similar situations in a boxer’s external reality. In his personal life, the 26-year-old has already created a million-dollar empire for himself. So, to him, it doesn’t matter for the highs and lows that happen when he’s got the gloves on, but the money shouldn’t stop coming in. Taking a step forward in that direction, he announced his partnership with an online casino and trading platform on his Instagram handle some hours ago, adding further to the young boxer’s income.
In a thread of 8 pictures and videos, Garcia flaunted his close ties with Sam Kiki aka Senortilt, the founder of Monkey Tilt, an online casino and sports betting platform. Sharing about the duo’s partnership in the coming venture, Garcia also reminisced about how Kiki has been one of his earliest business partners. “My guy @senortilt has been one of my day 1 biz partners. We are building the best online casino and trading platform,” the caption of his post read.

Nudging his followers to stay updated with Senortilt’s page, where he would be doing a lot of platform-related giveaways, Garcia continued to write, “He will be doing a lot of giveaways and announcements on his page. Stay tuned and follow!” The images themselves were all showy and humorous. In the first one, Garcia stood alongside a human billboard who wore the Money Tilt’s classic crowned money mascot costume. The next few pictures showcased a similar bond, now between Kiki and Garcia, including the duo standing in front of the former’s black Lamborghini. Seeing the Sam Kiki responded in the comments, “My boy. Going to be a big year.”

This isn’t the first time the partnership has been teased. In October last year, Kiki posted on his Instagram pointing out that something big was coming fans’ way. He shared the same pictures with Garcia and himself twinning through the Monkey Tilt merchandise. Captioning the post, he had written, “Sick content coming soon @monkeytilt @kingryan 🔞 18+ Gamble Responsibly.” But for those who are taken aback by Ryan Garcia’s involvement in poker/gambling, let us tell you that the boxer has been an active gambling guy himself. To the point where he was rumored to be in millions of debt.

Ryan Garcia has remained a consistent face in the world of poker
Since June last year, the boxer has been associated with poker when he appeared in a high-profile game at Hustler Casino in Los Angeles. He shared the table with celebrities like Neymar Jr., Jimmy Butler, Chris Eubank Jr., Dan Bilzerian, and streamer Ninja during the “Legends of the Felt” event on the casino’s live stream. It was also Ryan Garcia’s first major public appearance since the no-contest fight with Haney in April that year.

Not to mistake that it was King Ry’s first time playing cards, trading poker chips. In October of that year, he sat down with Monkey Tilt and shared his wildest betting story. From one of the times he gambled, he’d dropped down to a bank balance of $6,000 from an initial $150,000. Not stopping, just like any other gambler, the Victorville native decided to put even the remaining money on the line. And then, what happened, you can hear from his own words.

“I just couldn’t win to save my life and I was at 6000 bucks…We threw the 6,000. Boom, hit the first one, got to 12. Then, boom, I got hot, 12 to 24, then boom we just started hitting everything,” he exclaimed. So, now that Ryan Garcia is going to make money from a gambling platform instead of losing it like a normal person, it’s at least that much better.
As for his boxing prowess, right now things seem to be on the down low as he tries to recover from the Romero loss. Recent comments from Oscar De La Hoya, his promoter, make it look like they may go in for a rematch with Rolly instead of fighting Haney for a second time. What are your thoughts about this?
