Pacquiao stated in an interview back in 2019, that if he were Mayweather, he would not face in exhibition bouts and that these bouts are not good for the fans.” I won’t do that. If I’m Floyd, I wouldn’t do that. Exhibition match where you just knock him out. That’s not good for the fans.” said Pacquiao.
However, it seems that Pacquiao might not be true to his word as it was announced that The Pac-Man will also fight in an exhibition match.
Pacquiao returns in an exhibition match
Boxing analyst Michael Benson announced on Twitter that Pacquiao will return to the squared circle to face Korean Youtuber DK Yoo in an exhibition fight in December.

However, Pacquiao was called out by the fans who were not shy to refer to his previous comments on exhibition matches and Mayweather.
Fans call out Manny Pacquiao
The fans were quick to react to the post calling out the hypocrisy of Pacquiao as one fan defended Mayweather stating that people trashing Mayweather has become a trend.

He wrote, “A reoccurring trend in boxing: Step 1 – Floyd Mayweather does something new and groundbreaking, and almost everyone trashes him whilst bragging they’d never participate in such ‘circus’. Step 2 – Same people who clowned him start shamelessly copying him without explanation.”

Another fan called out Pacquiao for demonizing Mayweather for exhibition matches while going on to do the same thing himself. “Funny how he demonized Mayweather for doing exhibitions and now he’s indulging in them as well.” He wrote.

Furthermore, another fan stated it would only be fair to criticize Pacquiao for fighting in exhibition fights the same way as Mayweather. He wrote, “Hmm didn’t everyone criticize Floyd for doing exhibition fights with YouTubers, kickboxers and ufc fighters? So are y’all gonna criticize manny too for doing exhibitions. are does this criticism only applies to Floyd? Lol people pick and choose what to hate in the sport smh.”
