The heavyweight classic of Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua is getting closer with time. Both their promotions are in sync to treat the boxing fans to this epic battle this year. Despite progress being made on many fronts, there’s still a long way to go before this fight is set in stone.

In an interview with Gareth Davies, Bob Arum talked about the possible locations taken into consideration for this bout and more.

Davis asked Arum if they are looking to finalize the USA as a probable location for this fight. To which the Top Rank CEO said, “Absolutely not!”

“Look, I don’t want to inject something that gets somebody upset. But Anthony, Joshua doesn’t mean very much in the United States, Fury’s made himself part-American, people sort of get a kick out of him and love his hat. So I don’t think that the US is the appropriate place for that fight.” he added.

‘AJ’ vs the ‘Gypsy King’ will be the most lucrative fight of this era. Arum hinted that he would like to keep this fight at a location where both the fighters are equally appreciated by the fans.

He feels the American audience loves Tyson Fury more and ‘AJ’ will have a lesser impact on the fans as compared to his foe. That is predominantly why America is not on the cards for this fight.

In a recent update, both their promotions have finalized on the location and a hint on their purses is out. As per Michael Benson’s tweet, it states that both these fighters are expected to earn around $100 million.

Is Joshua vs Fury the biggest heavyweight clash of the modern era?

Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury have climbed the heavyweight staircase by dismantling their opponents. They possess extremely strong resumes, which has resulted in this fight being billed by fans as the ultimate heavyweight showdown.

In terms of matchup, style, and records, the pair give each other a neck to neck challenge with no clear front-runner. That’s what makes this fight an absolute blinder.
