Floyd Mayweather Jr. has a horde of loyal fans who are ready to show their support to their favorite champ. There is also a posse of people who doubt his achievements. UFC contender Jorge Masvidal learned this the hard way. He recently shared a news article about Mayweather from the year 2014. And he ended up drawing the ire of fans for the statement he made about the same.
Mayweather had a pretty rough and ongoing beef with rapper TI in 2014. It started when Mayweather posted selfies with a woman named Tameka ‘Tiny’ Cottle, in a nightclub. But what he did not know was that she was TI’s wife. The duo later spoke about the same outside a jewelry store in New York. And Mayweather assured TI that there was nothing going on between Cottle and himself.

However, things did not end there. TI approached Mayweather when he was celebrating his then-14-year-old daughter’s birthday at Fatburger. Their words got heated and transitioned into a full-blown altercation. And the two had to be separated by their bodyguards.
Meanwhile, Masvidal recently took to social media to repost the story. But what intrigued fans was the statement he made about Mayweather. He called him the ‘greatest Boxer to ever walk the planet Earth’. And also mentioned that he defeated a prime Manny Pacquiao and Canelo Alvarez.
Masvidal also mentioned that he also eliminated the ‘Hardest Gangster Rapper’ in 2014.

Similarly, Chris Alcorn pitched in, “Prime Pac-Man lol, get real. Canelo wasn’t in his prime yet either.”
Meanwhile, a few fans questioned his ‘greatest boxer’ status. They even schooled Masvidal for the same.
Mikael Marshall mentioned, “He’s not as good as he thinks. Choosing when to fight other fighters when they are not at their best. He’s not even in my top ten.”
And Kenny Sautu said, “Greatest boxer? That’s debatable. Ali and Tyson are the greatest!”
Austin Atkinson added, “Says the guys with no boxing record and zero credentials to back his claims.”
Another fan pointed out that TI cannot fight. Junior Castañeda Sosa mentioned, “Gangster rappers can’t fight, they just know how to rap and shoot guns. None can fight though.”
