One of his biggest rivals in today’s time is the WBC featherweight champ, Gary Russell Jr. Recently, the latter was in a chat with Brian Custer. Here, he opened up on rival ‘Tank’ and more.

He said, “He’s a guy where he’s a good athlete, but he’s aware that I’m a great athlete. And I also have the intellect behind it.”

“Intellect of athleticism. I mean it’s been, how many times have we seen Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis have to come from behind in the scorecards because he’s losing 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 rounds to have to come and have a knockout in order to win the fight, you don’t see that with Mr. Gary Russell Jr.”

Gary Russell Jr. shares a tremendous feud with Gervonta Davis. Moreover, the featherweight champ called out ‘Tank’ many times for a fight. But since Davis elevated in a weight class, he hasn’t quite paid attention to ‘Mr.’s call-outs.
