Ahead of the biggest fight of his professional career, George Kambosos Jr. is confident in his abilities. With multiple obstructions in their fight schedule, the two have developed quite the rivalry and share some bad blood. The Australian does not think Lopez deserves his titles and is looking forward to snatching that away from him.

I’m going to beat this guy by any means necessary. It’s been a long time coming and I don’t see any way he can beat me. They talk about certain aspects of his game, but my game is better all around.

I don’t think he deserves to be a champion. He takes it for granted. He laps it up too much, wants to show off too much. He’s not a true champ and the fans see that; a lot of fans see his fakeness. He needs a big wake-up call, he needs to be humbled and I’m coming to do that, said Kambosos Jr.

Teofimo Lopez vs George Kambosos Jr – Fight Preview

Teofimo Lopez won the IBF world title with a win over Richard Commey in 2019. However, he truly came under the spotlight and put the division on notice by securing a unanimous decision win over Vasyl Lomachenko in October 2020. This added the WBA and WBO world titles to his collection.

On the other hand, George Kambosos has not yet won a title yet but is considered to be one of the top undefeated prospects in the division. This title fight is his gateway to the elite status and is looking to dominate the current lightweight champion on October 4.

George Kambosos is coming in hot and plans on walking over the top athletes in the lightweight division. Starting with Teofimo Lopez, the Australian also wants to dominate other “fake champions“.

“They don’t respect the game like I respect the game! I’m a different breed. Cut from a different cloth. I’m militant in everything I do. F*** these fake champions, f*** these frauds making a mockery of the sport. I’m getting what’s owed to me and no one is getting in my way!!” said George Kambosos Jr.

However, Lopez disagrees. The lightweight champ recently shared his prediction for the fight in an exclusive chat with ESPN Ringside.  He said, ”The fight is not going to last [long]. It won’t go past the first round.”
