Gervonta Davis will defend the WBA (Regular) lightweight title against Leo Santa Cruz and will look to get his hands on the WBA super featherweight title on October 31 in San Antonio, Texas.

Davis is coming off a spectacular unanimous decision win over top-prospect Yuriorkis Gamboa where he captured the lightweight strap. Ahead of his featherweight return, boxing fans are skeptical about Davis making weight for his much-anticipated showdown.

Earlier, Davis missed weight against Gamboa in his lightweight debut and had to make weight in his second attempt. Moreover, having competed at the featherweight division, Davis was criticized for his unprofessionalism in making weight for a championship bout.

Taking on a formidable foe in the form of Leo Santa Cruz, Gervonta Davis will look to make a statement with a win over Cruz. Santa Cruz has just one loss inside the ring against Carl Frampton. However, he found redemption in no time as he beat Frampton in the rematch.

It will be exciting to see two of the best battle it out inside the ring in less than a week.
