However, not all of it went smoothly for the lightweight world champion. Davis seemingly took offense when he received words of love from Ivan Redkach and Tank lashed at him publicly. Ukrainian super lightweight, Redkach congratulated Gervonta Davis but didn’t get the response he may have expected.

It can be a signal towards a potential fight between Davis and Redkach somewhere down the line. However, the two are noway near each other’s combat radar. Gervonta Davis has beaten Mario Barrios to grab hold of the WBA 140 lbs belt but has returned to 135 in his last appearance. He seems viable to remain in the lightweight division for some time now. Thus, Redkach vs Davis may not happen anytime soon. However, the potential fight can remain in the loop after Redkach manages to bounce back from his current bad phase.

Besides, he also needs to win a world title to enter the top-tier chain. Unless that happens, Redkach will remain an underdog before the mighty ‘Tank’, who is also an A-lister knockout artist. That said, the current scenario can offer much better matchups for Gervonta Davis than Redkach.

Gervonta Davis is in for some serious action

After Teofimo Lopez‘s loss to George Kambosos Jr, the 135 lbs division has gone through a massive transition. Davis, therefore, holds a much special position now and can evaluate himself for better matchups. He has already sparked rumors about facing former champion Vasyl Lomachenko, which can be a massive lightweight feast for the combat fans.
