Former five-division world champion, Floyd Mayweather Jr. has been a major proponent of working hard. However, WBA (Regular) lightweight champion, Gervonta Davis’ latest Instagram story has desecrated everything that Mayweather stands for.

Davis posted an Instagram story of him and his daughter, Gervanni Davis. There was a quote in the story that said, “Lol, hard work and dedication.”

Mayweather has always followed the mantra, “Hard work and dedication.”  

Mayweather’s favorite phrase is a prominent fixture in his matches and press meets. Moreover, the phrase has been regularly chanted by fans at stadiums, especially in Mayweather’s presence.

Davis mentioned in a now-deleted, tweet that his ‘contract ended’ with Mayweather Promotions. However, he mentioned that his promoters want him to fight Rolando Romero. He said, “My contract is up that’s why they want me to fight this clown so bad.”

Mayweather later responded to Davis’ tweet. He said, “He has to do what’s best for him. I feel like I’ve done a great job thus far I’ve been just building him and putting in good fights, great fights.”

Moreover, Mayweather also mentioned that he’s proud of Davis’ growth. He said. “He’s steady growing he’s steady learning and I’m proud of him.”
