The Gervonta Davis vs. Jake Paul exhibition is already shaping up to be an expensive affair. After their initial face-off in New York, the two came face-to-face for a second time at the Kaseya Center, the very location of their upcoming match.

While their first press conference highlighted the striking size difference, the second delivered even more drama. Things got heated with some fiery verbal exchanges. Adding fuel to the fire, popular Kick streamer Adin Ross, who was in attendance, pushed the fighters into raising the stakes. The result? A jaw-dropping $2 million bet on the fight.

Jake Paul would never have gotten the $2 million

During the recent press conference, streamer Adin Ross suggested that Davis and Paul place a $250K wager on their upcoming clash. Jake Paul, however, wasn’t satisfied with the amount and raised the stakes, saying, “Let’s make it a million.” The Baltimore native, who is no stranger to big-money fights, agreed, and the two shook hands to seal the deal.

But there’s a twist—Paul may never see that $2 million. After the bet was confirmed, a fan asked Gervonta Davis what he would do with the $2 million prize if he won by beating Jake Paul. “$2 million? I don’t know. I can’t even say because motherf—ers gonna hate me for it. So I’ma chill. I might donate it,” Davis admitted during the presser.

Still, Davis clarified he wouldn’t be giving it all away: “I’m not donating $2 million. I come from the hood. Not doing that. I’ll give something. But I ain’t going $2 million. I ain’t that damn rich.” Later, he hopped on X and declared he would do everything in his power to keep Jake Paul from touching the money. “He was never getting that 2 mil..idgaf what happens,” Davis wrote on X.

The two are set to square off on November 14th in an exhibition bout at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida, live on Netflix. In the meantime, the rules for the fight have now been confirmed. 

What are the rules for Gervonta Davis vs. ‘El Gallo’ Paul? 

This much-anticipated fight comes with an interesting set of stipulations, announced by Most Valuable Promotions co-founder Nakisa Bidarian. The exhibition will be a 10-round affair, with three minutes in each round. Although the fight won’t affect their professional records, this one, unlike most exhibitions, will have a declared winner.

Ring-side judges will be present, and if the fight goes the distance, they will announce a victor. The fighters will meet at a maximum weight of 195 pounds, and both will wear 12-ounce gloves. For Paul, who typically uses 10-ounce gloves, this is a slight adjustment. Davis, on the other hand, is moving up from the 8-ounce gloves common in lighter divisions.

The weight limit is arguably the most significant factor. Paul typically competes in the cruiserweight division (200 pounds), while Davis is a career lightweight at 135 pounds. That’s a huge difference!

So, if the anticipation for this fight wasn’t already through the roof, Jake Paul and Gervonta Davis just took it even higher by putting some serious money on the line. With his own cash now at stake, Paul may come out swinging harder than ever. The real question is—if Davis comes out on top, how should he spend his winnings?
