WBA lightweight champion Gervonta Davis was not impressed with Devin Haney’s performance against Yuriorkis Gamboa. The 25-year-old shared his reaction on Twitter after the Haney-Gamboa fight. Devin Haney beat Gamboa via unanimous decision after a professional performance; but, he failed to knock him out.

However, ‘The Dream’ still dominated proceedings from start to finish. Despite that, many fans will argue that the fight did not live up to expectations and they will echo ‘Tank’ Davis.

Gervonta Davis himself is coming off an impressive knockout of Leo Santa Cruz that sent the boxing community into a frenzy. This fight result, however, will not draw the same attention; especially as Haney kept saying he would eclipse Davis.

Davis had knocked out Gamboa in round 12 after dropping him thrice in the fight. The undefeated champion took to his Twitter to show what he thought; He just shared a laughing emoji.

Since Gervonta Davis is the WBA lightweight and super-featherweight champion, fans have tipped him to fight Haney. However, Floyd Mayweather has come out and said that Davis is the top dog in the sport and will pick fights at his convenience. Judging by his reaction to the Devin Haney-Yuriorkis Gamboa fight, we don’t think the Haney fight will interest him.

Who could Gervonta Davis fight next after mocking Devin Haney?

Well, the obvious answer is Ryan Garcia. ‘King-Ry’ has also previously stated that a fight with Haney doesn’t interest him as much; due to the fact that ‘The Dream’ will only come to box and not fight. He has said that he would like to fight Davis. If Garcia gets through his fight against Luke Campbell, fans may get to see the Garcia vs Davis bout come to fruition.

Haney on the other hand has had to eat his own words. After constantly saying he would better Davis’ performance against Gamboa, he could not deliver. He may not be too bothered about the same as he still has his gold; however, the unanimous decision win won’t send out a message quite as powerful to the division.
