Gervonta Davis “Looked Kinda Soft” – Says Leo Santa Cruz

Gervonta Davis vs Leo Santa Cruz is officially on after both fighters made weight. There was speculation whether the WBA champion, Davis, could make weight. The undefeated fighter even came in before the official weigh-in to make sure he was at the right weight for the fight. After the weigh-in, Santa Cruz gave his take on the situation.
Gervonta Davis came into the fight at 129.8 pounds, while Leo Santa Cruz came in at 129.6. Both fighters were under the required 130 pound mark. Speaking to Fight Hub TV on YouTube after the weigh-in, Santa Cruz said:

“I feel great. I made weight, he made weight, we’re both good. Now we eat, relax and get ready for tomorrow.” The 32-year-old seemed relaxed and ready for the tough challenge ahead of him.
“Physically he didn’t look like… big or nothing. I didn’t think he looked bigger and stuff. He looked kinda soft.” The Mexican said, “He didn’t look confident.”
Santa Cruz explained why he thought Davis’ looked soft and not confident. He said, “I don’t know. Maybe the weight or maybe he got too much, you know? It’s probably too much to make and stuff like that, or he’s praying, or I don’t know what. But yea he wasn’t.”
Leo Santa Cruz won’t change his approach to the fight

Davis’ body language did not convince the Mexican, but Santa Cruz is not getting ahead of himself. He confirmed that this won’t change his approach towards the fight. He said:
“No, I still know he’s going to come out and fight me and make a great fight. He’s motivated to go out there and fight me.” This is where we see the experience of the fighter. He knows that he needs to focus on himself rather than his opponent.
