After vanquishing Mario Barrios in June, ‘Tank’ was being touted in several potential fights. However, Romero has finally made it to his radar, in what appears to be a fan-favorite fight.

While Romero (14-0) is currently the WBA interim lightweight champion, Gervonta Davis holds the WBA regular world title. Thus, Romero has rightly bagged his shot at gold, against one of the most vicious 135 pounders of the time.

Gervonta Davis and Rolando Romero are two of the hardest hitters in the lightweight division. They have stopped most of their opponents and are already regarded as elite KO-artists. Thus, putting them opposite each other can produce sheer violence which the boxing world will seemingly relish. Apart from the alluring in-ring features, Romero and Davis have also been foes in reality.

Rolando Romero has been vocal about his supremacy over Gervonta Davis in several interviews. Besides, he has also claimed that he will beat the Baltimore star if they ever cross paths. As it’s finally happening now, Romero has a chance to shock the world and end the unbeaten run of ‘Tank’.

Gervonta Davis vs Rolando Romero- A Lightweight Mega-Fight

Following Gervonta Davis’ super lightweight title victory against Barrios, his mentor Floyd Mayweather had claimed that he would put ‘Tank’ only against in-house opponents. It ended several lightweight fighters’ chances of meeting ‘Tank’. However, Romero is a star and a viable name that can push Gervonta Davis to his limits. He has been on a stellar rise in the lightweight journey.

This assures Davis of coming across a tough challenge, especially when he falls short under certain physical parameters. But as ‘Tank’ has proven his worth against bigger opponents, his vicious KO-power will always have a lot to show in a boxing fight. Also, Romero will look to use the opportunity to back his words. Hence, fans are in for a mega-fight.
