Gervonta Davis Shocks With His Response After a Fan Asked Him to Fight Canelo Alvarez

Gervonta Davis needs no introduction in today’s highly competitive boxing world. Davis, who ranks among the top-notch young guns of the sport, has shown a lot of promise to go down as one of the best of all time. Also, in his charismatic boxing run, Davis has contended with some of the best pugilists and he wishes to do the same ahead.

But recently, a fan asked ‘Tank’ to go up against the pound-for-pound king, Canelo Alvarez. After taking that point into consideration, he issued a fiery response.

Taking it to his official Twitter handle, he wrote, “Lol, damn I’m that good, OG?”

Davis is going supremely strong with his boxing regime. He debuted in the sport in 2013, and since then, he’s transitioned to many weight classes and claimed gold in all of them.

For now, he’s shifted his attention to the super-lightweight roster. On June 26th, he will compete against Mario Barrios for the WBA super-lightweight title. Slowly and steadily, Davis is climbing the ladders of success and is hungry for more.

Additionally, competing against bigwigs of boxing will only strengthen his resume. That said, a fight against someone as elite as Canelo Alvarez will unquestionably be a career-defining fight for ‘Tank’.

For now, the Mexican boxer is moving fiercely in his pursuit of bagging all the super-middleweight titles. Post that, he might step up and compete in the light-heavyweight division.

Davis and Alvarez definitely fight many weight classes apart. And considering the prevailing scenario in their careers, it’s safe to admit this fight might never come to fruition.

Also, apart from Alvarez, ‘Tank’ will get opportunities to face other legends of the sport like Terence Crawford, Errol Spence Jr., or more if he moves up. Also, he has no shortage of options at lightweight and super lightweight.
