The social media personality turned boxer, Jake Paul, has earned respect by showcasing stellar performances in his bouts. Meanwhile, WBA (Regular) Lightweight champion, Gervonta Davis, revealed how Paul would fare against a ‘real’ boxer.

Gervonta Davis was talking in an episode of ‘I AM ATHLETE‘ along with hosts Brandon Marshall, Chad Ochocinco Johnson, and Adam Caparell.

In conversation, Campbell asked Davis about his thoughts on the Paul brothers foraying into the sport of boxing. Davis responded by saying that he did not like Paul’s outlook in the beginning. However, he added that Paul has earned his respect, as he is not doing it for the hype.

Hearing this, Campbell asked him how Paul would fare if he faced a ‘real’ boxer. In response, Davis said, “If they pick his fight right. I think he’s decent, yeah like he’s good.”

He further added, “I mean he’s not good. But, he’s going that way if he’s continuing to do like, stay in the gym. Like you say like, you get up in the morning like he’s a boxer. You know what I mean, he’s in the gym.”

Moreover, Davis was also asked if Paul was a better boxer than he’d be. He answered in the affirmative.

Gervonta Davis challenges Jake Paul

Davis will be defending his WBA (Regular) Lightweight title against Rolando Romero on May 28. Moreover, the fight is scheduled to take place at the Barclays Center in New York City.

Jake Paul made a prediction for the Romero vs Davis showdown. He said that Romero will be declared the winner by decision. An annoyed Davis made a tweet asking Paul if he wants to bet USD 2 million on the outcome of the fight.

Paul responded by claiming that he pays more money as taxes than Davis makes from boxing. However, the tweet was later deleted by Davis. When Paul got to know that Davis had deleted the tweet, he took to social media to taunt him for the same.
