The dynamics of the lightweight division have changed completely after George Kambosos Jr. beat the former unified champ, Teofimo Lopez. The 135-pound roster consists of some high-voltage boxing young guns who have the ability to become great. However, fans are eager to see all of these stars go after each other.

Recently, Gervonta Davis, one prime lightweight stalwart, interacted with Es News. Here, he took shots at the newly crowned lightweight king, George Kambosos Jr.

Davis, who’s about to fight this weekend, said, “I’ll whoop in that a**, come see me. Tell him to hold the belts. I’ll whoop his a** for free. No no no, not for free.”

With a win against ‘The Takeover’, Kambosos Jr. has automatically put himself in a terrific spot to face the likes of Davis and more such elites of the division. Gervonta Davis, the WBA ‘regular’ lightweight titlist, has a fight aligned for this weekend.

‘Tank’ will battle out Isaac Cruz for his lightweight title defense. The undefeated stalwart will look to grab a win anyhow in this fight because his chances to fight for the ultimate WBA lightweight title rely heavily on this fight.

Also, since Kambosos Jr. has the WBA ‘super’ lightweight title, Davis will be keen to touch gloves with him at any cost. Moving on, ‘Tank’ seems to be building his rivalry with the Australian boxer already and his above comments are proof of the same.

Both men are undefeated and if Davis gets past his opponent this weekend, a fight between him and Kambosos Jr. might be on the cards.
