‘Get Fit Mush’: Tyson Fury on Going After The ‘Number 2 Ranked Heavyweight’ Joe Joyce

Two-time world heavyweight champion, the iconic Tyson Fury, is all set to make an explosive appearance after announcing his retirement in early 2022. While fans are excited to witness his return, Fury had more news in store for his fans. It looks like he has the upcoming year all planned out. And also revealed that he might even fight British boxer Joe Joyce.

Fury is currently set to face Derek Chisora for his trilogy fight at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London on December 3, 2022. Moreover, he was in an interview with Dev Sahni of Queensbury Promotions, ahead of his fight. In conversation, Fury delved into his potential future fights against Anthony Joshua and Oleksandr Usyk. In fact, he compared the former to a ‘Sunday Roast’ while he called the latter, ‘a walk in the park’.

This was when Sahni asked him about potentially fighting Joyce. Fury responded by saying, “If Usyk don’t want no smoke in February. Then let’s do Joyce in Wembley. You heard it here first. Joe, get your skates on. Get fit mush because if the middleweight don’t want no smoke, you’re in. Because I’m fighting three times next year, and you can be one of them.”

Fury also mentioned that Joyce is the ‘Number 2 ranked heavyweight’ after him. However, he was quick to rectify that Deontay Wilder might take second place.

Tyson Fury was last seen defending his titles against Dillian Whyte. Post his victory, he announced that he will be retiring from the sport. But when he announced his return, fans were curious to know who ‘The Gypsy King’ might face for his next fight.

This was when he announced that he will be facing Derek Chisora for their trilogy fight. He had previously faced Chisora in 2011 and 2014. And went on to win both fights by decision. It is said that the fight will serve as a heavyweight eliminator. With the winner fighting the victor of the Wilder vs Andy Ruiz Jr showdown.
