Ryan Garcia’s comments on the WBC Lightweight Champion Devin Haney picking easy fights didn’t sit too well with the latter.
‘The Dream’ fired back at ‘KingRy’, calling him out for an in-ring clash. Although Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia have fought each other at an amateur stage, the professional unit is yet to see them collide.
That said, Haney predicts it to be a tremendous fight. However, looking at the ongoing scenario, the matchup is still far from being sealed.

If Garcia goes past Luke Campbell in his upcoming test for the WBC Interim title, he can bag a fight against Haney. But the duo is already spitting venom with words.
While Garcia ridiculed Haney’s selection of opponents, ‘The Dream’ accused him of the same. He connected with Brian Custer to talk about his current feud with Garcia and a possible fight between them.
The WBC lightweight champion said, “Who has he (Garcia) fought if I was so easy. If I fought so many easy, guys. I was so easy. I must be easy. Come get me, it’d be really felt like that. If that, if that really was how you felt?
“Then you would just come get me beat me take my belt, get the easy money and you know walk off or what an easy night. If that’s really how you feel.”

However, Haney wishes to fight Garcia in the future, citing it as a blockbuster event for the fans.
When asked about the matchup, Haney added, “Yeah, definitely use a huge fight. Ryan has a huge fan base. We’ve fought since we were kids. I think that eventually can be a huge fight.”

Both have their WBC titles on their shoulder. Haney is the world champion, and Garcia is the silver champion. So they can settle it for once if Garcia gets hold of the Interim title against Campbell.
The lightweight division has umpteen unbeaten champions who remain untested against each other. 2021 might bring them on the line, paving the way for some stellar thrillers.
