A boxer is supposed to offer violence, but only after keeping the sanity of some general protocols in mind. The deadly sport witnesses in-ring deaths almost every year, and governing bodies work effectively to ensure a fighter’s medical safety.

Battering each other with 6-ounce or 8-ounce gloves, boxing calls for extreme physical threats. That said, Liam Williams’s will to kill his opponent Chris Eubank Jr. in an in-ring affair didn’t sit well with the administrators.

Well, the in-ring reality offered a contrasting scenario from what Williams had said. Chris Eubank Jr. dominated him in the fight and floored Williams four times all across the rounds to score a unanimous win. But that’s not the end of the bad news for Williams. Per reports, the BBBofC will now call him for making derogatory statements ahead of the fight.

According to Michael Benson’s tweet, Liam Williams had said, “Chris Eubank Jr makes my skin crawl every time I look at him. I deeply dislike the guy. I want to kill him.”

Now, Robert Smith of BBBofC has verified calling the Welsh boxer to make him aware of his harsh statements. Nevertheless, Liam Williams has already suffered an ill-fate for making such comments. Eubank Jr. made easy work out of him and made him look below-average. Thus, the further criticisms from BBBofC will only add more dent to Williams’ current condition.

It may be wrong of Liam Williams to have thrown such a harsh opinion on his rival, Chris Eubank Jr. But this isn’t the first time a boxer has said so. It has been a common trend in the sport for years, with Deontay Wilder sitting on the list with Liam Williams.

A Boxer is never out of violence

Before Deontay Wilder suffered his professional losses to Tyson Fury, he had held the WBC heavyweight title by knocking out every man on his way. He seemed invincible with the monstrous KO-power. What made him even treacherous was his will to kill someone inside the boxing ring. According to reports, Wilder once mentioned his desire to have a body in his career, which backfired with severe criticism from the fans.

Wilder was then the WBC ambassador of global peace. The comments looked really bad on his image and people ridiculed him to a great extent. This verifies the fact that boxers should re-think before saying something about their opponents.

What do you make of BBBofC’s latest decision to call Liam Williams?
