Former WBC title challenger Luis Ortiz had nothing but respect for Deontay Wilder despite his recent claims about Tyson Fury. However, the Cuban boxer urged ‘The Bronze Bomber’ to reflect on what he is saying and advised him to train harder to make a resounding return.
Via a translator, when speaking to Fight Hub TV, he said, “He should take a minute and really reflect on what he is saying. Some of it is a little bit absurd. Great champions have lost, Lennox Lewis lost. Came back, got the knockout, and looked fantastic, and is a legend in the sport. He should follow some of those footsteps from the greatest who have done it before him, and revenged those losses.”
“Whether it’s a rematch or rubber match. He should take that route instead of accusing. It just doesn’t look good… Everybody has their opinion, to say what they want, and that includes Wilder. If that’s how he feels, he respects it.”

Earlier, Wilder had taken to Twitter to express what he believes were the reasons for his loss against Tyson Fury in the rematch. ‘The Bronze Bomber‘ claimed that Wilder added egg weights to his gloves and tampered with them to gain a significant advantage. Additionally, he also rained down on his trainer Mark Breland and made multiple accusations about his camp.

Luiz Ortiz claims Deontay Wilder is still the better fighter
Deontay Wilder is not someone who has great footwork like Tyson Fury. However, he has the power akin to Mike Tyson. Luis Ortiz has faced him twice and is well aware of Wilder’s powerful right hand. Needless to say, it sets him apart from other boxers.

“Boxing is not written in stones. Fury came with a better gameplan. Wilder couldn’t adapt. Mor importantly, he couldn’t make any changes. It can happen to anybody. He believes that Wilder is still probably the better fighter, because of his big punch. He just needs to line that up, recollect himself, focus, and work on getting back to the status he is at.”

Wilder could be losing the entire fight in the judges’ scorecard; however, one right hand is enough to drop any boxer in the boxing division. It was evident from the pair’s last clash, where the Cuban boxer dominated ‘The Bronze Bomber’ for the better part of the entire bout before being knocked out in the seventh round.
It’s hard not to agree with ‘King Kong.’ It’s not the first time a boxer has been snapped off his winning streak. The former WBC champion should be looking at making an impressive performance in the next bout to announce his return rather than being fixated on his last loss.
