Hollywood actor Sylvester Stallone made his name on the big screen following the success of his boxing blockbuster movie ‘Rock’. Despite ‘Sly’ being an integral part of the franchise the producers did not always want him to be a part of the production. Stallone was responsible for the script and thus wanted to star in his own film.

However, the producers of the film thought that Stallone was a relatively unknown actor and would not be able to carry the movie with his star power. In addition, Sly once even revealed the things his producers did to try and keep him away from production.

Stallone opens up on not owning the rights to ‘Rocky’

In an interview with SiriusXM’s “Pop Culture Spotlight with Jessica Shaw, Stallone detailed how he would have liked to still own the rights to ‘Rocky’.

He stated that it would have been something that he could leave behind for his family as a gesture of goodwill.

“I wrote it. I thought it would be nice to say, ‘Here’s the gesture darling here. Beautiful children, beautiful wife. When I’m long gone, this is you. This is what I made for you.’” he said.
