The sport of boxing has paved the way for some of the most skilled fighters in the world of combat sports. And there is one individual who stands out among the mortals of boxing, the former five-division world champion, Floyd Mayweather Jr. Meanwhile, there have been instances where boxers have resorted to dirty tactics inside the ring. And Victor Ortiz has reasons to believe that Mayweather might just be the dirtiest fighter that he has faced.

Ortiz was in attendance for the 60th WBC Annual Convention that took place at Acapulco in November 2022. And this was when ESNEWS caught up with him. In conversation, the interviewer asked him about the ‘dirtiest fighter’ he has faced. Ortiz, however, wasted no time in saying, “I’m sorry bro. Floyd man.”

The interviewer further pressed him on the details, and asked if Mayweather hit him with a ‘cheap shot’. In response, Ortiz said, “No, he throws a hook. Misses the hook. And he hits you with the elbow. But people don’t know that. They probably, you know they pick what they want.”

Moreover, Ortiz also named Andre Berto as the most heavy-handed fighter that he has faced.

Mayweather faced Ortiz at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Paradise, Nevada on September 17, 2011. Moreover, Ortiz’s WBC welterweight title was also on the line for the fight.
