Lightweight knockout artist Rolando Romero, who scored his 12 KO win against Anthony Yigit this week, is confident about beating Devin Haney in a potential scrap. Although Haney is the undefeated WBC world champion with way more experience than Romero, 25-year-old ‘Rolly’ might have found a few flaws in Haney’s physical features.

While Devin Haney had ridiculed ‘Rolly’ after his win over Yigit, Romero responded in style and demeaned Devin Haney’s chin. He looked back at Haney vs Linares and claimed to have located loopholes. In response to Devin Haney’s ‘piece of sh**’ message, Romero delivered a fierce response.

While speaking with the media, Rolando Romero said, “I fight Devin Haney sure, I mean he is chinny as hell. He got hurt with Venum gloves, that’s a joke. He didn’t just get hurt, he didn’t recover. It was like four rounds and he didn’t recover.”

“So like I said. I mean, Linares is nowhere near puncher like me. Haney, I mean I feel bad. He is probably the chinniest fighter in at 135, if not one of the most chinniest in the sport. He is the Amir Khan of 135.”

Despite all the skills, Amir Khan suffered a few horrific losses in his career as he was chinny. Although no professional boxer has managed to crack Devin Haney until now, Romero has claimed to have found similar features between Amir Khan’s and Devin Haney’s chins.

What’s Next for Jermell Charlo and Brian Castano?

We might see ‘Rolly’ and ‘The Dream’ collide in the future. Both men are undefeated lightweights and are making rapid strides in the sport. While Romero is yet to become a world champion or a headlining star, he is on the right track.

Devin Haney vs Rolando Romero – A future showdown

14-0 as a professional, Romero, the WBA Interim lightweight champion, has 12 KOs under his belt. As the WBA Interim belt holder, he is now a mandatory challenger to Gervonta Davis’ WBA world lightweight title. However, as Davis has belts in three weight classes, he can explore through several more names from the list.

So Romero might turn his attention towards the other lightweight belts. On entering the WBC ride, he can go against several big names like Teofimo Lopez, Ryan Garcia, or Devin Haney. As these names would offer tough competition, we can see whether Romero can sustain himself among the elites.
