WBC Interim champion Dillian Whyte and Anthony Joshua have been bitter foes for years. While Whyte is set to face Alexander Povetkin next on August 22, he is also aiming to take on Joshua the same night.
Joshua and Whyte faced each other in 2015, and the former notched an impressive KO victory. However, Whyte has evolved highly since that fight, taunting Joshua several times publicly for another face-off.
Yet, the bizarre thoughts of boxing Joshua on August 22 came after the Briton World champion passed a similar threat to Whyte a couple of days back.

Dillian Whyte vows to box Anthony Joshua after the Povetkin fight

A few days back Joshua told Sky Sports that he is willing to go in there and punch ‘The Body Snatcher’ right on his face on August 22. No wonder Whyte didn’t take it lightly.
While speaking with Sky Sports, the Interim champion claimed that he is not afraid of Joshua and he might punch him as well, if they get into a skirmish post-fight.
“If he does that, he might get a box, there and then, one box. He thinks it’s a game, but I don’t play games with these guys. They think it’s a game, scream, and shout and get in each other’s faces, but if he does, he will get a box,” said Dillian Whyte.
After their heated battle in 2015, Whyte and Joshua found themselves in another heated interaction in 2018. Whyte beat Dereck Chisora via knockout that night, following which Joshua entered the ring and the duo shared some verbal beef.
In the post-fight segment of Whyte vs Povetkin, something similar can happen if Joshua steps in.
Speaking about Joshua, Whyte also billed him to be consistent. As per Whyte, Joshua doesn’t act on his own words and he is tired of it.
“He says one thing one day and the next day he says something else. There’s no consistency with AJ. There’s no consistency with him.
“He says this, then he says that. He just talks a lot of c**p. I’m sick and tired of all these guys that’s talking, talking, talking all the time,” told Whyte.
Whyte chalks up his plans after Alexander Povetkin
If managed to secure a win on August 22, Whyte would be the mandatory challenger for the WBC Heavyweight strap, which is held by Tyson Fury at this moment. However, Whyte is ready to go against Anthony Joshua before that.

Fury will defend the WBC strap against former champion Deontay Wilder, expectedly this year. After that, the winner of Whyte vs Povetkin is next on the line. Well, Whyte would hunt for more challenges in the timing.
“Beat Povetkin then if Joshua wants to fight, we’ll fight. If Fury wants to fight, we can fight.
“There’s only three or four big fights out there for me now after this one and I just want to have them. The biggest two is Joshua and Fury. If I beat them then I’ve had an amazing career, and that’s what I want to do,” claimed Whyte.
