Tensions reached a boiling point at the weigh-ins as Devin Haney and Vasyl Lomachenko engaged in a heated face-off ahead of their highly anticipated title fight. The two are set to face off for Haney’s undisputed lightweight titles on May 20th. Haney, at just 24 years old, has already solidified his position as one of boxing’s rising stars, while Lomachenko, aims to reclaim his former glory after losing his titles to Teofimo Lopez in 2020.
However, as both fighters successfully made weight, the attention turned to their face-off, a customary pre-fight ritual that often showcases the intensity and animosity between opponents. This was where things got a little out of control when ‘The Dream’ would unexpectedly shove Lomachenko, sending him backward. The shove by Haney added fuel to an already smoldering rivalry between the two fighters. In the buildup to the fight, both fighters were not shy to talk a little trash to sell the event more.
