Trash talk in boxing often comes with its own drawbacks! Failing to prove one’s words often results in embarrassment and ridicule from the boxing community, the Tyson Fury vs. Francis Ngannou fight might be the perfect example. Before the fight, Tyson Fury and Papa John Fury made bold claims about Tyson’s fight against the hard-hitting Francis Ngannou. Lo-and-behold, their claims fell flat on their face when the ‘Predator’ Ngannou nearly defeated the ‘Gypsy King.’

However, that hasn’t stopped ‘Big John’ from making bold claims yet again. Despite his close, controversial win over Francis Ngannou, Fury is scheduled to face Oleksandr Usyk early next year. So, days after the Ngannou fight, John Fury attempts to clear the doubts about Tyson’s dominance in the heavyweight division. While appearing in an interview with Seconds Out, John Fury makes another prediction about the upcoming fight while bashing the people criticizing his son.

John Fury doesn’t want to talk about Tyson’s win

During the interview, John spoke about the controversial fight for the first time since Fury was crowned the winner. John stated, “I just don’t wanna talk about Tyson’s victory. It was a good victory.” John went on to suggest that everyone is criticizing Fury’s controversial win over Ngannou, and he is not going to be one of them.

“There’s enough people talking bulls***, and I’m not gonna be one of them,” said John. He further added that Tyson is still a world champion and the best compared to others. “My son is still the champion of the world and the best heavyweight by a country mile,” said the Fury patriarch.

In addition, John ended his statement by making a bold prediction about the upcoming fight. “You watch him vs. Usyk, he’ll reign supreme, and he’ll stop Usyk,” John stated.

Tyson Fury takes a tumble in pound-for-pound rankings

Many saw this coming after Fury’s lackluster performance against Francis Ngannou! In contrast to Fury’s attitude before the fight, Ngannou put on a fight of a lifetime, even teaching Fury a thing or two. Lucky for Fury, he managed to edge the win by the skin of his teeth, but Fury did not make it out unscathed.

Despite somehow winning the fight, he dropped four spots to No.10 in the ESPN pound-for-pound rankings. Besides his sub-par performance, Ngannou’s knockdown of Fury in the third round added to his tumble in the rankings. What’s more, Joe Tessitore and Teddy Atlas’ criticism led to the rankings adjustment.

Days after his controversial win over Francis Ngannou, Tyson Fury’s father, John Fury, makes a daring prediction for the fight against Oleksandr Usyk while refusing to talk about Fury’s recent victory. However, only time can tell if his prediction turns into reality.
