In the realm of boxing, rivalries often simmer to a boiling point, and the clash between Chris Eubank Jr. and Liam Smith is no exception. The saga of their two-fight series has been nothing short of a rollercoaster journey. This whole rivalry began after Smith’s upset victory in their first encounter, knocking out Eubank Jr. in just four rounds. However, the plot took a riveting turn in their second bout, which unfolded in Manchester on Saturday night.

This time, it was Eubank Jr. who dominated nearly every round of the fight, showcasing a remarkable improvement since their initial clash. He scored two knockdowns and ultimately stopped Smith in the tenth round. With both fighters now having one win over each other in there, the notion of a trilogy encounter naturally emerged. Despite this, former Heavyweight champion David Haye believes that there is reason for these two to have a third match.

“You couldn’t pick a hole in that performance at all, you know, particularly coming off the back of a stoppage loss. His confidence seemed sky-high, and he looked like the fighter we all know, you know him to be. And he’s only going to get better. Imagine that he’s only had four or five weeks with Bo Mac his coach. Now, add another 12 weeks to that. He’s just going to keep getting better and better. I’m super excited about the future.” he said

Haye was not the only one who praised Eubank Jr. on his performance avenging a loss many felt he shouldn’t have had. However, with Smith Jr. out of the way, ‘Next Gen’ has now expressed his interest in facing one of the greatest Middleweights of all time in hopes of a title shot.
