Jeff Mayweather reveals Roger Mayweather’s exploits during their childhood

In the book Money: The Life and Fast Times of Floyd Mayweather, Jeff claimed that Roger was not a normal child. He stated that his brother was feared among his peers but wasn’t part of any gangs because he himself was equal to one. However, he also revealed that he looked up to Roger due to his intelligence. “Roger? Oh my god. He was a bad, bad kid. Bad, bad, bad. He was never in gangs or anything like that. He was a one-man gang. I’m serious. But even at a young age Roger was very, very intelligent and because I was younger. I looked up to him,” he said.

Moreover, Jeff even revealed how Roger would show his elite skills while they played football where he turned into a renowned quarterback. “One time we were playing rocket football and Roger was too old to be on our team — the age difference was only two, three years, but I was like ten or eleven and he was like Joe Namath. He was calling his own plays and everyone was scared of him. And he was calling street plays, not stuff like the coach would give you,” he added.

This was not all, as Jeff also detailed the times he assaulted a Golden gloves referee and even robbed a sporting goods store.

Jeff then details the time Roger got into an altercation with a Golden Gloves referee that ended in him being expelled from the program. “He once assaulted the late Max Harnish, a beloved referee, during a Golden Gloves bout. He got booted from the program another time for backing up a van to a gym door and taking as much equipment as he could load,” he said.

In addition, Jeff even stated that he was forced to rob a store with Roger leading the charge and making Jeff his sidekick. He said that half a dozen of them were leaving football practice and went into a sporting goods shop. Following his brother’s orders, Jeff held a bat on a guy sitting down, while the rest of them grabbed all they wanted from the store. He further stated that he didn’t know what he was doing back then.
