The Maskaev vs Rahman knockout and fans’ reactions

In 2001, Oleg Maskaev and Hasim Rahman faced off in what would become one of the most chaotic knockouts in boxing history. Maskaev caught Rahman with a right hand that sent him crashing through the ropes and onto a ringside table before falling to the floor. As the referee began to count, a brief melee ensued between fans and security personnel, culminating in the throwing of a chair.

The video of the knockout  resurfaced on Twitter, posted by Fight Haven, with fans reminiscing on the bizarre incident. Gojo remarked, “he didn’t fly off from the ring from that punch, you can see he was barely able to stand on his feet and heavily breathing probably out of breath, even a little push would do the same to him at that point.”
