However, in a recent turn of events, Mayweather was seen purchasing clothes from a local brand in South Africa.

This act of Mayweather purchasing clothes from a local brand is out of his character. In fact, many were quick to speculate his intentions behind the same. Intriguingly, he purchased articles worth a whopping $7 Million in a shopping spree. Although Mayweather is infamous for such extravagant purchases, this particular shopping spree attracted controversy. And just days after this controversy, Mayweather goes shopping from a local brand. Fans dive in to question the true intentions behind his unusual move.

Floyd Mayweather visited the city of Markham where he was seen shopping. The fans were present to see the star in flesh.

Another post made by Briefly – South African News reported this revelation. It stated, “Floyd Mayweather wanted to get the true Mzansi experience. The American boxer and his entourage visited Markham to buy clothes to take back home. Fans lauded Mayweather for being down to earth. One said: “What happened to shopping at the Gucci store?”

However, the fans had some distinct reactions and a couple of fan reactions reflect upon the same:

A fan named Zarow Pee does not consider shopping in Markham to be local. He stated, “Majority of Markham clothes are international brands, it would be better if went for local brands. Bathu, Drip, Rich Mnisi, Amaxhosa, GalXBoy, David Tlale etc”

On similar lines, Mmathaha Mosala suggests a different recourse. He stated, “The good boxer left high school early. A well informed tourist buys local souverniers, clothes … from local communties for a memorable experience”

Meanwhile, Tshepo Vincent appreciates this gesture and explains why, “Simplicity is the most important thing in the world remember Gucci shops are all over new York”

Another fan, Solly Marima finds buying clothes from Markham prolific. He states, “Markhams clothing are comfort and warm and not to forget stylish also.”

Also, Bulourh Rsa questions his true intentions and states, “He was there to promote Markham’s… He was paid to be there”
