Boxers who started late but became champions
Although training from a young age would certainly benefit a boxer in his career, it is not a universal rule. There have been many cases where professional boxers started training late but went on to become World Champions. The prime example of this would be Deontay Wilder, who started training at 20 and went on to win the WBC heavyweight championship.

Anthony Joshua is another example of the same as he didn’t start training until his late teens and became the unified heavyweight champion. Other boxers who fit the criteria include legends like Sonny Liston and Rocky Marciano, both of whom started training in their 20s.
