Teofimo Lopez has quickly risen to the pinnacle of the sport with an emphatic win over then pound-for-pound best Vasyl Lomachenko to win the unified lightweight championship. The Brooklyn boxer has stated that he might want to move up a weight class in the near future.

However, potential showdowns against Devin Haney, Ryan Garcia, and Gervonta Davis are also on the cards. Needless to say, the future looks bright for the 23-year-old boxer who will look to further cement his position as one of the greatest of all time. Be that as it may, if Lopez decides to continue at the lightweight division, he will have to fight Australian boxer George Kambosos, who is currently the IBF mandatory challenger.

The Australian boxer is hyped up and sent a notice to the “Takeover” ahead of the potential match-up. He said“I’m ready. I truly believe I can beat this guy and I will beat this guy. I’ve shown my class and I’m just getting better and better. He’ll be shocked with my speed and my movement. Lomachenko barely threw a punch in seven rounds. We all saw it. With 50,000 Aussies behind me, I’ll be on him straight away.”

Kambosos became the mandatory challenger after a scintillating win over Lee Selby early this year. Should Lopez continue, he will have to get past Kambosos sooner or later.
