Floyd Mayweather retired from the sport but his influence is felt even today. Back in 2015, he signed a young, 20-year-old, Gervonta Davis under his promotion. He had an eye for the right talent. Today, ‘Tank,’ is considered to be one of the biggest names in the sport and unquestionably a skilled boxer. Their relationship was not just confined professionally. Mayweather was a mentor to the young boxer and continues to be one for another prospect. The new Protégé’s name is Curmel Moton and is signed to Mayweather’s promotions.

However, do not let his young age give you any impression yet. He boasts a record of 50 amateur bouts. 48 of them he won and suffered only two defeats. Moreover, in a recent turn of events, a picture resurfaced of Davis and him online. The fans had intriguing insights, to say the least.

A resurfaced image of Gervonta Davis and Curmel Moton ignites intriguing reactions

The picture dates back to 8 years ago. Back in 2015, Davis was far from the boxer he is today and Moton, on the other hand, was just a kid. But today, Davis is arguably the face of the sport, and Moton, is one of the most exciting prospects. Moton himself re-quoted the image and credited it to Davis. Here is how the fans reacted to the picture:

One fan thinks both appear to resemble each other and questions if they might even be related.

Meanwhile, one fan recalls how impressed he was to see the 17-year-old compete for the first time in their life and have nothing but words for encouragement.

Intriguingly, one fan makes a comparison between the two and considers Muton to have faced better competition in the amateurs in contrast to, ‘Tank.’

On the contrary, a fan gave props and credit to both combatants.
