Boxing legend Mike Tyson is known for his love of pigeons, as he has claimed that pigeons have played a huge role in his life in overcoming the bullying that ‘Iron Mike’ faced during his childhood. Moreover, even today, the boxer has a collection featuring over a 1000 pigeons.

However, his love for pigeons has also led Tyson to have a few scraps with his ex-wife as she cooked and ate one of his pigeons and also wanted Tyson to join her.

Tyson appeared on the talk radio show ‘Boomer & Carton’ and was discussing his racing pigeons when he brought up a bizarre incident with his ex-girlfriend. The host asked Tyson whether he has ever eaten one of his pigeons and the boxer had this to say, “I tried, I was dating this young lady and she said, “‘I don’t know why you’re flying those damn birds, you should be eating them’

He then added that his ex-girlfriend grabbed a pigeon and proceeded to cook it, “She happened to grab one and – and she cooked one and proceeded to eat it.” Lastly, he said that this incident was the reason he ended up breaking up with his ex-girlfriend, “And I just couldn’t do it. It just wasn’t the right thing to do. That’s why she’s not my woman anymore”, he said.

It looks like Tyson’s love for his pigeons was greater than his love for his ex-wife, as he ended up leaving her for eating one of his beloved birds.

The 55-year-old boxer is currently retired from the sport, last fighting back in 2020 against Roy Jones Jr. Tyson has had one the most illustrious careers in boxing, becoming the youngest heavyweight champion at the age of just 20, he has competed in 58 professional bouts and has a record of 50-6 with 44 knockout wins.

Moreover, he has also played several roles in movies such as The Hangover and IP Man 3 and also has his own podcast called Hot Boxin’. The Baddest Man on the planet is still one of the most prominent figures in the sport and has been around it even after his retirement.
