If there’s one pro-boxer who witnessed a cracking boxing run in 2021, he undoubtedly is Canelo Alvarez. The p4p king remained eager to become the maiden undisputed super-middleweight champ. That said, he fought thrice last year, finishing Caleb Plant in his previous outing to become the undisputed 168-pound king.
Since then, Canelo is in the news for his next boxing appearance and there are massive rumors surrounding the same.
Recently, Alvarez’s coach, Eddy Reynoso, spoke to FightHub TV. Here, he spilled the beans on his fighters’ next boxing bout and more.

He said, “Two fights. We gotta give him rest. We had four fights in one year, so he’s a little tired. We will let him rest till February and then start the year off well.”
“Let’s see if something can happen in May or September.”
“We are looking to fight in May or September in the US and the last one in Mexico. Let’s see if we can fight in Azteca. We are in Canelo’s best moment of his career. Hopefully, we get a chance to fight here.”
Canelo‘s road to the undisputed 168-pound throne began in December 2020. In this fight, he beat Callum Smith. Further, he beat Avni Yildirim, Billy Joe Saunders, and Caleb Plant to finally become the ultimate king.

In totality, the Mexican boxing star fought four times in 11 months, putting himself through some rugged tests. With that, Alvarez will definitely look to take some time off, to be back even better than before.

Canelo Alvarez has a list of opponents to face. But Dmitry Bivol and Jermall Charlo are the front runners to face the p4p star.

In between the two, Jermall Charlo has an upper hand to face Canelo.

Furthermore, a fight between the two is targeted for Cinco De Mayo weekend. Until now, this isn’t official, but if this fight materializes, there are high probabilities of it coming to life by May 2022.

It’ll be interesting to see who the undisputed king finally faces on his much-anticipated return.
