Boxing legend Floyd Mayweather became a proud grandfather back in 2020 after his daughter Yaya gave birth to her son. This was a heartfelt moment for the five-division champion who now has a grandson to pass on his legacy. Moreover, he was not shy to share his thoughts on the birth of his grandson.

Back in 2020, Yaya was pregnant with Kentrell Gaulden Jr. whose father is none other than a rapper, NBA Youngboy. During this time many speculated about who the father was at the time and whether she was actually pregnant or not. However, in October of that year Mayweather confirmed that she was with a child.

Mayweather shares his honest opinion on his daughter’s pregnancy

In an interview with Hollywood Unlocked, he stated that he wanted what was best for his daughter. He added that she could do what makes her happy but once she is out of his home, he won’t take responsibility for any of her actions. “ I just want the best for my daughter. Always want the best. If that makes her happy, then we’re happy. Me and her mother are happy. But what I try not to do is get in her personal business. Because once she’s no longer under my roof, then it’s between her and her better half.” he said

NBA Youngboy has had a pesky record when it comes to women and already had 6 children before Gaulden. However, Mayweather feels that his daughter and son-in-law need to sort matters among themselves and not get him involved.

It was reported that the couple first met back in 2018 but had a rocky few months at the start. They officially started dating at the end of the year but broke up in March 2019. However, the two got back together back in 2020 which is when reports of Yaya’s pregnancy started to appear.

Following the pregnancy, their relationship has been on and off with Yaya even getting into an altercation with one of Young boy’s ex-girlfriends. Moreover, with the rapper’s music career also on a decline, their relationship is possibly in a difficult phase.
