Katie Taylor, regarded as one of the best female boxers in the world, was all set to defend her undisputed titles against Amanda Serrano in a bout considered one of the greatest fights in the sport’s history. However, those hopes tanked as Serrano had to pull out of the fight due to an injury. Lucky for Taylor, she had another contender in mind. Eddie Hearn recently gave some updates on this anticipated matchup, but not everyone agrees with him.

Claressa Shields took to Twitter to show her disagreement with some comments made by the English promoter on Amanda Serrano. And fans joined the former champ by showing their disapproval of the claims made by Hearn.

Claressa Shields is not pleased by Eddie Hearn’s remarks

In an interview with IFL TV, Eddie Hearn gave positive updates on the negotiations for Katie Taylor’s matchup against the current light welterweight undisputed champion Chantelle Cameron. He said, “For the first time in Katie Taylor’s career, she has called someone out. And she called out Chantalle Cameron.”

Hearn added, “This is a brilliant fight. That is a tougher fight than Amanda Serrano for Katie Taylor.”

The ‘GWOAT’ shared the video of Hearn’s interview and wrote, “He say anything.” The former three-division world champion did not agree with Hearn’s comments about the fight being easier than Serrano’s. The Puerto Rican lost her last bout to Taylor via split decision when. They last met in the ring at Madison Square Garden.

‘The Bray Bomber’ was scheduled to fight Serrano for a rematch in her homeland of Ireland. But Serrano had to pull out due to an injury. Now, negotiations are underway for a potential matchup between Taylor and Cameron with the undisputed light welterweight title on the line.

Fans are not happy with Hearn’s remarks

Wise Seraph believes that Hearn is very disrespectful.

Lance Euell thinks that Serrano was the true winner of the first fight and it was really tight.
