Many guests of varied fields on his Hotboxin with Mike’ podcast. Recently, world-renowned stand-up comic and actor, David Spade, joined Tyson for an interview.

The comedian and the boxer discussed many different things including the infamous Oscars incident between Chris Rock and Will Smith.

David Spade tells Mike Tyson what it’s like to perform with Chris Rock

Stand-up comedy is one of the most fascinating art forms in the world. David Spade explained to Tyson what it’s like to be a comedian and what’s the worst thing that could happen to them. According to Spade, if something happened to a comedian, it follows him no matter what, and the audience yells at them.

Moreover, he recalled what it was like to perform with Chris Rock after Will Smith slapped him at the Academy Awards. Specifically, he stated that the audience yelled something that derailed the show.

Spade said, “We went to the f*ck**g comedy cell in New York about a month ago, and we blah blah blah we go in and I go up first just for like a surprise you know I go on then he [Chris Rock] comes on, first thing when he walks out, we are not gonna hit you.”

This comment made things very weird. However, Rock got back to his act after addressing the issue and moving on from it.

This year’s Oscars was full of drama with blows coming left, right and center, literally. Actor and comedian Chris Rock is the host who made a ‘G. I. Joe’ joke about Jada Pinkett Smith referring to her hair loss.

However, her husband, Will Smith, did not appreciate this joke, and he stormed onto the stage and slapped Chris Rock. Additionally, Smith yelled at Rock, saying “Keep my wife’s name out of your f**** mouth!”
