Unified welterweight champion Errol Spence Jr. recently suffered a devastating car crash in the Dallas area. The accident took place after a car smashed into Spence’s SUV after breaking a red light. It was later revealed that the person in the other car was an underage and unlicensed driver.

Despite, the champion not suffering any major injuries, this was a devastating experience for him. Moreover, his Instagram story might have given us more information as to why this could have been far worse than Spence’s vehicle being damaged.

Errol Spence Jr’s daughter was in the car hours before the accident

Spence posted an Instagram story of his six-year-old daughter in the back set of the car just hours before the accident. However, his daughter was not in the car during the crash. This just goes on to show how things could have turned out much worse for the unified champion. Following the accident, Spence took to Instagram live and tried to give an inside as to what had occurred.

This certainly was traumatizing for him but will be thankful that his children or any other loved one was not present with him during the crash. Although the identity of the other driver is unknown, it is reported that he is a 14-year-old who had taken his parents car out for a ride.

The champ later revealed that the driver ran over a red light and crashed his car. Moreover, he stated that he was thankful that his children were not present with him with the only damage occurring to his car.

The motherfu**er hit me… fu*ked my leg up. It’s crazy. He ran the light. Always happen to me. I’ve seen him coming too. He ran right into me. I seen him coming, going fast as hell. He hit me head on. My car is all metal, heavy as hell. I’m just glad I didn’t have my kids in there with me.”  said Spence

This will be the third time Spence has been a part of a motor accident in the past few years. However, his most infamous crash was when he lost control and was ejected from his Ferrari back in 2019 after which he suffered multiple injuries.
