It is safe to say that the former world heavyweight champion, Mike Tyson, did not have the best relationship with his promoter, Don King. Fans were also quick to notice the bad blood and the tempestuous relationship the duo shared. In fact, this even culminated in Tyson once throwing water on King during a press conference.

Most of Tyson’s fights in the ’90s were promoted by King. However, during the late ’90s, Tyson started noticing a massive discrepancy in his funds. And, in the year 1998, he went on to sue King for USD 100 million.

The settlement was finalized for USD 14 million. But, Tyson was not too happy with this amount. This ongoing beef even led to an infamous altercation between the two during a car journey through West Palm Beach in Florida.

Tyson later went on to hilariously claim that he beat King because he loved him.

The duo saw each other again at the Boxing Hall Of Fame Induction Weekend in Canastota, NY in 2018. King proceeded to walk on stage and tap Tyson on the shoulder, in hopes of exchanging pleasantries. However, he was met with a cold reaction from Tyson, who also went on to throw a glass of water at his face.

Talking about the incident, Tyson said he did so because King and himself weren’t ‘friends’.

Boxing fans were not too surprised by Mike Tyson’s actions. UFC welterweight contender, Jorge Masvidal, recently shared the story on his Facebook page. Moreover, he also wrote in the comments, “This is what happened the first time #MikeTyson and #DonKing crossed paths after he stole over $400 Million from him!”

And a lot of fans also shared their thoughts on the incident.

A user named, Michael Capone, was surprised that Tyson did not face any consequences for his actions. He said, “How did he get away with that?”

Meanwhile, user Paul Holstein, was confused as to why no one helped Tyson when his money was being stolen. He said, “Stealing why didn’t anyone help him get it back?”

Similarly, user Sean Ballard, also pitched in, saying, “He allowed it.”

However, user Eric Kaiser, did not mince words. He said, “F**k Don King.”

There is no denying that King had wronged Tyson for the majority of his career. But, Tyson’s actions at the Hall of Fame event might have been a little out of line.
