58-year-old Evander Holyfield will once again embrace the boxing ring on September 11. He will take on an MMA specialist, Vitor Belfort, in a professional boxing bout. After a decade-long hiatus, Holyfield’s returning bout will see him go against a real knockout artist, who is 14 years younger than him and has been inactive for just three years.

However, ‘The Real Deal’ seems unfazed by all these facts. Relying on his skills and physical frame, the two-division champion has expressed his confidence ahead of the fight. Without giving any importance to Belfort’s UFC achievements, Holyfield has justified why he isn’t worried about the scrap.

In a chat with Fight Hub TV, Evander Holyfield said, “It’s not so much about the other person. It’s the confidence that I have in me and me being able to function properly. Yeah and when.”

Holyfield had retired after knocking out Brian Nielsen in his last fight in 2011. He had been teasing a return for several months, most predictably for a trilogy against Mike Tyson. While the blockbuster idea is still far from reality, ‘The Real Deal’ will test his skills against an MMA elite.

Belfort is a reputed combat artist and has all the features to stop his opponent. Therefore, Vitor Belfort vs Evander Holyfield can be an intriguing fight. Both men will have their chances to win, but under valid parameters, Holyfield will remain the favorite.

Evander Holyfield vs Vitor Belfort – Preview

Holyfield will stand 2 ½” taller than Belfort with a 4″ reach advantage. Moreover, his boxing resume of 44-10-2 will also dwarf Belfort’s 1-0 pro-boxing record. But notably, that one win in Belfort’s record had come via KO. Hence, Belfort has something to tout in the boxing world, even if Holyfield doesn’t consider his glittery MMA record.

The nearing fight will be available live on the Triller PPV. Before the chief men take their stand in the main event, the undercard will feature bouts like Joe Fournier vs David Haye and Tito Ortiz vs Anderson Silva. Given the veteran star power on the card, it makes sense for fans to keep their eyes glued to the nearing Triller Fight Club stage.
