Undefeated IBF super middleweight champion Caleb Plant vowed to knockout Caleb Truax in their upcoming collision on January 30. Despite having a lesser fighting experience, Plant recalled an incident from the past to fuel his spirit for earning a stoppage over Truax.
Unlike the current scenario, Caleb Truax was a world champion and already a fighting veteran with almost 30 fights in 2016. However, ‘Sweet Hands’ was still to earn a title. He was fighting his way through the division. That said, Caleb Plant had alarmed the roster with his undefeated run.
Truax wished to see him lose by a knockout, and Plant seems vexed about it to this day.

Before the fight, the IBF champion connected with PBC and said, “In 2016 I have my 11 fight and he (Caleb Truax) was tweeting, ‘I am already hoping he gets knocked out’. He had almost 30 fights, and I had 11 fights. Why you are in benefit if I get knocked out?”
Recalling the past, Plant aimed to seek revenge in the fight and added, “I am going to remind him what he said to me. I am going to embarrass him, punish him, and stop him.”

Since becoming the IBF champion in 2019, Plant has defended the belt twice via KO’s and is on the brink of his third defense. If he wins the fight, it can further pave the way to a blockbuster clash with Canelo Alvarez.
Caleb Plant, super middleweight unit and 2021?
Following Canelo Alvarez’s entry in the 168 lbs, he has already bagged the WBC, WBA, and Ring super middleweight belts by beating Callum Smith. The Mexican superstar now wants to unify the division by grabbing the WBO and IBF titles which are currently held by Billy Joe Saunders and Caleb Plant.
Plant can also fight Billy Joe Saunders for the WBO belt, creating several lucrative options for himself. Meanwhile, Caleb Truax is still a threat to his dominance. Despite being the favorite, ‘Sweet Hands’ cannot belittle Truax’s in-ring abilities. Boasting a record of 31-4-2, Truax has his chances in the fight. He has also been a world champion in the past. So, he can use his experience and fight IQ to beat Caleb Plant.

Apart from that, Truax will enjoy a reach advantage of 3cm. Although both of them are orthodox, Truax can still use his minor advantages. On beating Plant, he can find his spot amongst the other world title-holders.
