However, WBO Champion Demetrius Andrade might not be an easy opponent. He is still undefeated in professional boxing and has taken out 18 of his 29 opponents via KO. Thus, Williams would have his work cut out if he is to grab the world title from Andrade. That said, he is ready to roll down with the champion by early 2021.
Liam Williams has his eyes set on the world title
Despite having a potential challenge in Andrew Robinson, Williams appears confident about getting the win. He has also chalked out his post-fight plans. Surprisingly, there’s no time to rest as the British boxer is planning to get a crack at the WBO strap.
In an interaction with BT Sport, Williams said, “I am 99% that the world title fight will be my next. After Robinson, so it’s just about getting past him first, looking good, no injuries, No slip offs, we are good to go and I am ready when Demetrius Andrade is.”
However, things can instantly change if Williams loses the fight against Andrade. His trainer Gary Lockett isn’t bothered about it as he has all his confidence in Williams. Hence, he is totally on board with the idea of an upcoming title fight against Andrade.

Talking about it, Lockett said, “We are gonna be patient for this fight. I spoke to Eddie Hearn recently, and he said we’re looking, maybe, January, February for this fight. It could be late as March or April, but the one thing Liam Williams is not gonna do is sit around and wait and hope that he is gonna be working towards the world title fight. Every fight he has is a building process towards it.”
