The Eubank-Benn saga continues! Harlem Eubank has come forward, claiming he can defeat Conor Benn. ‘The Destroyer’ was supposed to face Chris Eubank Jr. in October 2022 but failed a drug test, canceling the fight. Since then, Benn has fought and defeated Mexico’s Rodolfo Orzo and is about to enter the ring against a relatively unknown Peter Dobson on 03 February. Though the negotiations between Eubank and Benn were re-established, it did not go as planned.

The fight was canceled again due to failed negotiations, something Eddie Hearn wasn’t happy about as he blasted Eubank Jr. However, during the peak of the Eubank Jr.-Benn saga, Chris Eubank Sr. introduced Harlem as a prospect for Conor Benn instead of Eubank Jr. Both parties have clashed heads on social media before, but the possibility of a fight never saw the light of day. Nevertheless, in a December 31 interview with Boxing Social, Harlem seemed positive about a potential clash.

Harlem Eubank claims he can out-box Conor Benn

During the interview, Matt Lenihan questioned the Brighton native about what a fight with ‘The Destroyer’ would look like. Confident about their eventual clash, Chris Eubank’s cousin suggested he can defeat Benn in any way he desires. He brought up a fight with a prior opponent, claiming people said he could not be stopped, but he did. He further added regardless of how the fight goes, he will win it.

“I think I can take it any which way. The last guy I thought had never been stopped…but I hurt him multiple times. I box, I could fight, and that’s the same way I take any fight…I think I can outbox him. I think I can stop him, I can win that fight [in] multiple different ways. So, it’s just about how he would come out and approach it. But I think any which way it goes, I will come on top,” said Harlem. The fate of the Harlem fight is still in the air, but here are the details for Benn’s upcoming fight.

‘The Destroyer’ Benn wants to put the 147 division on notice

On December 28, Matchroom Boxing officially announced Benn’s next fight against Dobson, to be held at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. While the bout will be Benn’s second fight since his return to the ring, Dobson hasn’t fought anyone in the last year. Both of them are undefeated, but Benn has a six-fight advantage over Dobson.

According to a report from Matchroom Boxing, Benn claimed he was disappointed about his failed fight against Eubank Jr., but he is hopeful and is looking to put the 147 division on high alert. “I was disappointed when my previous fight fell through, but in this sport, when one door shuts, another one opens. This setback has brought me back to where I need to be, and I’m here to put the entire 147 division on notice,” said Benn.
