Forget analysts, other boxers and all the pundits of the sport, rapper Lil Wayne has chimed in with his prediction for the upcoming fight between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul. The duo has a date scheduled in the ring on July 20 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. And everybody and their grandmas have something to say about it.

Coming off a couple of exciting press conferences for the fight, both Paul and Tyson have made it crystal clear that the fight will be a blockbuster one. Yet some are not convinced ‘Iron’ Mike could overcome Paul’s youth. Amid the chaos, however, the American rapper, singer, songwriter, and record executive is confident Tyson is not messing around during an interview with Skip Bayless from Undisputed

Lil Wayne highlights disrespect against Mike Tyson

Speaking to the rapper, Bayless popped the question everybody has been asking each other—who will win, Tyson or Paul? Wayne didn’t have to think for a sec, as he responded to the question saying, “If it’s a real fight, I have Mike Tyson and I believe it’s a disrespectful question.” Puzzled by Wayne’s callout to the question as disrespectful, Bayless enquired.

“That’s how much you believe in 58-year-old Mike Tyson,” the journalist asked. To this, the rapper expressed his unwavering confidence in the ‘Baddest Man on the Planet,’ saying, “I don’t care if he was 85-year-old Mike Tyson.” Wayne further elaborated that even if a punch thrown during training by Tyson lands on Jake Paul, the fight would be over.

Tyson is coming off an exhibition bout against Roy Jones Jr. in 2020, and since then has seen no action in the ring at least. Meanwhile, Paul has fought MMA legends and mediocre boxers, winning them all, except for the fight against Tommy Fury. Regardless, the boxing world is divided on who would come out victorious when the fighters meet in the ring.

Heavyweight legend outlines why people are jealous

Ahead of his fight against Oleksandr Usyk, Tyson Fury appeared in an interview with Ariel Helwani on May 16! When asked about the Mike Tyson fight, ‘The Gypsy King’ had the answer ready to go. He said, “If Mike Tyson hits anybody, I don’t care if he’s 90—he’s going to knock them out cold, isn’t he?”

Even though ‘The Problem Child’ has accumulated some experience, Fury suggested he is backing Tyson’s win via knockout because Mike has always backed him. Meanwhile, turning to people who have raised concerns about Tyson’s age, Fury said, “Only jealous fighters who aren’t getting paid and not getting laid, those are the fighters that are jealous.”

With all the excitement in the air, Lil Wayne seems to have joined Tyson’s corner in support. However, fans will have to wait to see whether the massive age gap between the boxers actually affects the fight in any way. Do you think Mike Tyson can beat Jake Paul?
