“I think he got lucky in the first situation”- Dominic Breazeale
“I think that in the first situation he got lucky. And when I say lucky, you know, I don’t say that he closed his eyes and threw punches and landed something. He just happened to land the big shot before Joshua did, and you know, became victorious.” Said Breazeale
Ruiz made a stellar comeback during their first bout, after being floored twice in round 3. He knocked Joshua to the canvas twice in round 7, before the referee stopped the bout. Andy Ruiz looked like a shadow of his former self. Overweight and sluggish across the ring, he lost the titles he fought so hard to gain.
“I don’t think he put in the work that he needed to do coming into the second fight. He definitely didn’t look the part. I know he stood on his feet for 12 rounds, but Joshua was playing it safe and was able to overcome Andy Ruiz and get his belts back and pick up]a victory in the second fight. I think Andy understands, you know, he kind of dropped the ball in that fight now, and he’s working towards his next title shot” said Breazeale
However, things seem positive for Andy Ruiz. The fighter has switched camps and looks more focused to regain the titles he lost. Only time will tell, how Andy Ruiz bounces back from his loss.
