Katie Taylor ranks among the finest female pugilists of the world. The undisputed lightweight champ has made a cosmic statement in the world of boxing with her stern skill sets and in-ring abilities. Moreover, fans draw a significant comparison between her and the resilient Claressa Shields. Every hard-core boxing fan wishes to see both these boxers take each other on at least once.

But the Irish boxer, Katie Taylor, doesn’t envision this fight happening by any means. Speaking to SiriusXM boxing, she said, “I think that’s fair to say, to be honest, it’s a pity that Claressa hasn’t got the dance partners really at that weight category.”

“And I walk around at maybe 139 lbs. So it is genuinely hard. I’m not the biggest lightweight in the world, so I don’t think that fight would ever happen. It’s too much of a weight discrepancy. And it’s pity, really, because obviously, it is a dream fight for a lot of people, but there’s too much of a weight difference.”

Considering the same, the Bray native made it clear in her above interview that a fight between her and Shields is definitely not on the cards.
