At one point in time, four-division world champion, Adrien Broner was considered one of the best prospects in boxing. However, a myriad of personal issues and mental health struggles sorely began affecting his performances. This, in turn, also made him take a much-needed break from the sport that made him a household name. Broner, whose last performance was in 2021, was scheduled for a February 25 comeback fight against Michael Williams Jr. However, it looks like his opponent has pulled out of the fight.

Broner was initially scheduled to fight Ivan Redkach who pulled out due to contract disagreements. He was then pitted against Hank Lundy, who quickly followed suit stating medical issues. It was recently reported that Williams Jr. had suffered a broken jaw during a training session. BLK Prime also announced that the fight will be rescheduled with a new opponent.

Broner, on the other hand, was undoubtedly looking forward to these fights. And had also passionately opened up about refocusing on his career. As per BadLeftHook, “I worked my a*s off and I see what the bottom really looked like for the first time. I looked in the mirror and I told myself I am not that person.” But, with this unfortunate turn of events, it looks like he will have to wait longer to reclaim his glory.
