Canelo Alvarez is one of the best pound-for-pound boxers in the world. The reigning undisputed super-middleweight champion has defeated numerous boxers until now in his career. To put things into perspective, he has a boxing record of 58 wins and only 2 losses. It is safe to say that Alvarez has an impeccable boxing resume to withstand the claim of being one of the best. Even though the ‘Mexican Phenom’ has fought professional boxers of different nationalities, it seems like the champ has an apology specifically for his British fans.

Ahead of his title defense against John Ryder, in a recent interview, Alvarez had an apology to the British fans for doing something he claims he had to do and there was no other way.

In an interview with Telegraph Sport, Alvarez conveyed his heartfelt apology to the fans from Britain for beating their boxers. The 32-year-old has fought many boxers from the country and undoubtedly he prevailed in all the bouts. He has fought over seven British boxers with the eighth one being John Ryder, who he will fight Saturday night in his hometown of Jalisco, Guadalajara.

Alvarez said, “I’m sorry to all the UK people, but I had to do it.” As the record shows no British boxer has been able to get through the Mexican. And, that has made Saul apologetic towards British fans of the sport who support their boxers against him but to no fortune.

Alvarez wants to fight in the UK

Out of all the places Alvarez has fought, he is yet to grace a boxing ring in the United Kingdom.
