Former WBO Light heavyweight title challenger Anthony Yarde spoke out via Boxing Scene and shared his candid views. The British boxer suffered a devastating personal loss of both his father and grandmother, who were victims of the lethal COVID-19 virus. The travesty occurred when the pandemic initially began to surface, and Yarde shared a personal insight on the matter.
Chiefly, Anthony Yarde explained that he summoned the strength to move past this tremendous personal loss due to Michael Jordan. The boxer explained that the exceedingly popular docu-series entitled “The Last Dance” was a key motivator. He was able to draw inspiration from the way in which Michael Jordan handled the loss of his own father as portrayed in the series.

“Watching that really helped me,” Yarde said. “I saw how close he was to his dad, his dad was everything to him, they did everything together.”
“He dealt with that is such a professional manner and continued to progress. He didn’t go crazy, he wasn’t affected mentally. I have to look at that as inspiration. He had a character that was unbreakable.”

Anthony Yarde also detailed the fact that he didn’t share an exceedingly close relationship with his father. However, he relayed a sense of somber optimism about a possible future that the two could have forged together.
“We communicated with each other, but we didn’t spend time together, we didn’t do all these things. That could have possibly happened in the future but no it’s too late for all that. But I just have to keep it as it was. The memories I have of my Dad are when I was younger and what other people say of him and that is that he was a good man.”

“I’m just focused on Dec Spelman right now, any fight after that just doesn’t matter to me now,” he said. “I have got a job to do. I am laser-focused. I’m hunting now, I am not going to divert now.”
He will be looking to secure a statement performance against his adversary and build-up to fight against Lyndon Arthur. Should he maintain his winning ways, he will certainly find himself back in the driver’s seat for contention.
